I am unable to attend the local protest. (In fact, as soon as I post this I will be taking another migraine pill and turning the lights out.) But I figured there are many others who would be willing to join in, but for whatever reason cannot. So I have put together an outline for a Holy Hour of Reparation that can be our contribution to today's pro-life efforts. Perhaps through our quiet presence before the Lord today, we can obtain and "channel" the graces most needed by the people whose hands are so stained with blood or greed.
Please feel free to share this outline with as many people as possible. "Whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will give you," Jesus said. Let us ask the grace of interior conversion for everyone involved in the abortion industry, for our politicians and for the media who protect the status quo, and for the medical researchers who are driving the marketplace demand for fetal organs.
Holy Hour of Reparation

Sorry to read of your migraine attack; my mother suffered from them so I know how debilitating they can be.
The hands of the abortion/body parts people are indeed stained with blood, but I find the outrage against the negotiators as they ply their trade perplexing. For some time we've been aware that research into both life threatening and life impacting diseases is being carried out using stem cells, more to the point fetal stem cells.
Where did we think these cells were coming from? Does consent of the mother make the situation more tolerable? Is it the exchange of money that tips the scale? How many of us would refuse a stem cell transplant if faced with an otherwise incurable disease, to be truthful? Are we kidding ourselves if we answer by accepting stem cell therapy something good comes of an otherwise sad loss? Do these researchers believe they can be their own gods and offer immortality?
In sixth grade health class we were taught that sex makes babies. No mention of birth control nor of failure rates despite it being a public school, only the bare facts of life. Until there is a greater respect for life and the gift of fertility, until we draw the line on what these researchers are permitted to do there will continue to be these middle men and women selling their souls and profiting from the genocide of the unborn. I don't know what I can do as an individual, a Catholic, other than offering many prayers and Rosary intentions, doing my best to promote respect for life from conception to natural death. Western culture has never been more barbaric and steeped in evil than it is now. I don't know about you, but I don't see it getting any better until Christ's second coming. - Jean
