Dispelling the Myth of the Dark Ages
According to Professo Esolen, if the "Dark Ages" are dark to us, it's because we forgot to turn the lights on from our side. Those centuries after the fall of the Roman Empire were actually brilliant. Here are the highlights, in 5 fascinating minutes.

My husband an I watched a BBC documentary on the "Dark Ages" not too long ago, and learned what dimwits we were to have believed them unenlightened. It's a perverse form of pride that each generation believes itself to be more intelligent than the one before. The older I get, the more I realize how much I have yet to learn. The professor makes a good point about honouring one's ancestors. We should not only honour them, but remember to pray for them as well. - Jean
