The last comfortable pair of shoes on earth

We walked so many miles together.... ran for trains in Italy... served the Lord. And now they have taken their last step.

Too bad I walked a hole right through them (see the upturned edge on the sole of the upside down shoe? that's a hole). Easy Spirits seems to have discontinued this line. (This always seems to happen to me!) Is anyone else out there engaged in a fruitless search for "comfort footware"?

Footsmart catalog. Some stuff is discounted at Zappos.com as well. However, for comfort footwear one really has to try them on!

I can sympathize, I have heelspurs, since a trip to Italy in 2001, and a bunion, and arthritis. I loathe dress shoes, and I Have to wear them for work at times.

I remember those shoes! How sad. RIP shoes. I seek out the comfort brands, which are Clarks, Ecco, Mephisto and, of course, the $29.99 before-the-sale canvas Keds. Zappos is great if you want to shop online.

I feel your foot pain!

I've heard how marvelous Mephistos are, but I am so hard on shoes, I cannot justify spending that much on something that will last maybe a year. Those Easy Spirits only made it to the 8-month mark!

Thank you for the Zappos headsup. I love the website for selection!

Sister, how about the Belfast SoftWalk in either black or brown. It is under the Oxford section for women. It does not have the high sides, but...

I'll have to look it up! My mom also found some New Balance shoes that strongly resemble my dearly beloved Easy Spirits, except the soles are a bit flatter...
