Either today or tomorrow is the 49th anniversary of ordination of my dear friend Father Joseph Henchey, CSS (Stigmatine). The dear soul was my teacher at St. Charles Seminary (Philly) and then my confessor in Rome--he was on the faculty at the NAC while I was working for the Jubilee; it was quite providential. A lovely man of God.
And today I got a surprise Starbucks card from my brother! Bless him, too!

I have just found your lovely reference to Fr Henchey's anniversary on your Blog, as I put his name into my search engine to see if I could find a way to contact him for his 50th anniversary on July 1st. Like you, I had the great pleasure and privilege of knowing him as my confessor while I was studying for the priesthood in Rome 25 yrs ago. I would dealy love to be able to contact him to give my thanks and best wishes on that auspicious day next week.
