It's still Christmas!

Don't let the Christmas trees by the side of the road deceive you! We are still in the Christmas season, and will be until next Sunday's Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Indeed, if you follow the custom in Poland and some other cultures, it will be Christmastide until Candlemas (February 2, the Feast of the Presentation), forty days after Christmas.

You still have time for Christmas cookies, fruit cake (if you're into that, as I am!) and the Daughters of St Paul Virtual Christmas Concert, which will be available through the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (January 10).

I can also recommend that you celebrate Christmas with a contemplative viewing of a different sort of Nativity play. This is a staged reading of 30 Minutes BC by G.K. Chesterton Entertainment.  If you have been following the Gospel series The Chosen, Jonathan Roumie ("Jesus") is the narrator. Zuri Starks is the most ebullient Mary imaginable, while Joseph is everything you would imagine (and definitely not a decrepit man on this side of the grave!).

The script by Densie Vi Flaten is based on traditional Catholic sources, so the overall tone will be familiar to the devout and agreeably Christmassy for those unfamiliar with the background stories (some of which date back to the 100's). Not only will you enjoy some perfectly seasonal inspiration, you'll be supporting Catholic artists and the arts. (Post in the comments to let us know what you thought!)
