Taking a Prayer Poll

Are there some "ritual" aspects in your life of prayer? A sort of "routine" you typicall follow (or just "fell into")? I'm working on a talk and would love your input. Feel free to express yourself more fully in the comments: what "time of day" do you usually pray? If you have a prayer "place," what is special about it? What pattern does your prayer tend to follow?

I start the day with morning prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours, followed by scriputre reading. You have to get up early to m ake this work. I get to daily Mass 2-3 times a week, we pray as a family at mealtime, and my wife and I pray evening prayer together.
Plus lots of spontaneous prayer thro the day. Like "Lord, keep me from saying anything stupid in this meeting!"

I start my day with an hour of meditation on Scripture (slowly working my way through the new testament right now). Then my daughter and I pray the Liturgy of the Hours together - Morning Prayers, and we try to do Vespers. DH joins in when he is around. And throughout the day I like to pray the Jesus Prayer, or sometimes the Rosary. And of course, prayers before meals.

Before I was married, I had a spare bedroom that I used as a "chapel". Now we have an Icon Corner in our dining room where prayers are said. This isn't some out of the way place in our house, but actually the very center of our house, always a reminder to pray constantly.

Most of my prayers are said in the kitchen! I use little events in my daily life as reminders to give thanks, to praise, to ask forgiveness and to petition the Lord. For example, after a discussion with my brothers about cold water vs. hot for the ice cube tray, they are always in my prayers when I refill the trays.

I have a dear friend who goes to the same health club as I. He confided in me that when walking the tract he says his rosary.

My first prayer of the day is said upon my awakening. It is the morning offering. On my way down the thirteen stairs to the kitchen I say the angel of God prayer and that gets me to the bottom of the stairs safely.
At night when I turn out the lights I clasp my rosary in my fist and that puts me to sleep.
